Today I would like to inform you guys that since I have a lot of packing and other things to do before I go back to Pakistan the scenery making progress will be halted and it might take a long time for the scenery to finish. I will be passing on BETA models to some simmers for errors. Right now the scenery is 30% complete for the Karachi international airport while the OPSF project is only 5% done. The progress is slow but it is still going on.

Also, in this post I would like to wish my friend a very good health and also a very happy life in the future. His site is being closed down due to his health problems. You can visit the site right now here: www.flightsimpakistan.com

A little information. I have been giving updates on my progress on http://www.historyofpia.com/forums/ too, so if you feel like that I don't update my blog that much often then you should take a round trip to the forums. Hopefully my first projects are going to be upto my greatest levels.

Right now, I am having a little problem understanding the method of making LOD models for the buildings. The progress is slow but the scenery is still in progress.

After spending so much hours on fsdeveloper.com, I realised that great ground textures and polygons like http://www.flytampa.com/ can't be achieved without SCASM code, which comes with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 SDK (Software Development Kit), which can only be found on the installation CDs.

So to overcome this problem, I decided to go to TARGET (© 2008 Target). My day was long as I was also searching for gifts and presents that I could give to my family. Although being 16 years old has not been any obstacle in my way, I still consider myself as a mature and sensible guy when it comes to reality. I had to look up my budget and had to wait 2 or 3 days before I went to the store and bought the original Microsoft Flight SImulator 2002 CD for $7.99 but I also had to pay the 64 cents tax. After paying and taking the CD back to home was a long journey that seemed to never end. I couldn't wait to get home and get my hands on the SDK. But as soon as I reached home I realised that I couldn't do anything due to my limited users capabilities on my home computer(Thanks to my mom).

Anyways, I still opened up the new pack and smelled the fresh copy (although a very old one) that I had recently bought. I wonder if Microsoft is still making this version of Flight Simulator?

So After watching a bit of difference in Pirated version copies that never seemed to work that I bought from some old shops where I used to live before this place, I was delighted that the CDs said: "Do not make Illegal Copies of this CD".

Ahhhhhh! this was the time I used my Canon A560 with normal lenses and took some pictures of my CD case and CDs. Doesn't it feel good to buy a new game? My bad! its not a game, its the simulator.

So the picture of the new CD:

And a preview of the blue print book:

Stand by for more details later :)

This is really a good time to ask you Pakistani guys some favor;

As this scenery of Faisal Base (OPSF) is going to be payware, I would like to collect as much information on the Air base as possible. If anyone reading this out there can give me some extra goodies that I can work with, I would asure you but not garantuee a free copy of this scenery.

And this is the point I start thinking about developing stuff, also for FSX (8) .

Next scenery for FS2004 (Pakistani region)

After considering the scenery making of Pakistan, I have decided to do the scenery of my own choice as 1st priority, whereas, I would like to do the most desired sceneries next.

According to a poll I made almost an year ago;8 out of 9 people want to see chacklala air force base and Islamabad airport in FS2004
So I have decided to do OPSF (Shahra-e-Faisal Naval and Airforce Base at Karachi) for my project. This is because I have a lot of stuff related to this area and I go there very often. Meanwhile, the project of OPKC payware I was working on will be halted as Ali Mujtaba will continue to make the scenery for FSX.

So after completing the OPSF project I will start on Chacklala airbase (OPRN) and Inshallah by the middle of 2009, both the sceneries will be released with ground textures and enhancements to most possible accurate buildings.

Softwares being used:
Gmax
SCASM compiler
BGL compiler
RWY12 Object Placer
Photoshop 7
XML coder
and many more.

So don't wait for any updates till later this year.
